About Me

Hi there, I’m Alex. I live in San Francisco. I’m an EIR at Innovation Endeavors.

Before IE, I co-founded MemCachier. Before that, I worked in product marketing at Atlassian. Prior to Atlassian I was a software engineer, support engineer, consultant, and trainer at Cloudera.  And before Cloudera I was at Google and Redfin as an intern.

I’ve built a number of personal projects and consulted a little as well.  Here is some of my work:

I spend a lot of time on my bike, except during the winter when I’m on my snowboard or snowmobile.  I like Python and Ruby; I’m still recovering from Java.  I’m a University of Washington Computer Engineering alum.  And what really gets me going is seeing my software and work making a big impact in the world.

One of the Google APM scavenger items was to get cuffed by a police officer. I was going to respond with a funnier made-up story, but I thought I would just tell the truth.

    Hey Alex,

I’m a community blog curator for DZone.com. I wanted to talk with you about potentially featuring your blog on DZone’s Java and Android portals. You have a really great getting started with android article blog with some points that are often overlooked in most introductions. We’re actually creating a 6 pg Android cheatsheet ourselves. Send me an email and I’ll let you know what I’m thinking about.
